HAPEV Cloud Infrastructure Modernization Strategy

This document is a case study detailing the modernization of Hamburger Pensionsverwaltung's (HAPEV) datacenter through the implementation of a hybrid cloud strategy utilizing Aviatrix technology. HAPEV, a full-service pension provider in Germany, manages over one million pension accounts and has transitioned to a fully cloud-based infrastructure across AWS and Azure. The case study outlines the challenges faced, including the need for a reliable backup data center for business continuity and regulatory compliance, as well as the complexities of managing networking across multiple cloud service providers. The adoption of Aviatrix Secure High-Performance Datacenter Edge has enabled centralized control and secure connectivity, significantly improving operational efficiency. The document also discusses the benefits of high-performance encryption and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities, which have streamlined the provisioning of new workloads. Future plans include implementing zero trust security principles and adopting Aviatrix Cloud Firewall for enhanced security and compliance.
