This case study details the implementation of the Avigilon video security system at José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador, managed by Guayaquil Airport Terminal S.A. (TAGSA). The objective of this initiative was to enhance security measures throughout the airport, addressing various threats including organized crime and common theft. The project involved migrating from an analog to an IP-based video security system, which included the installation of high-resolution cameras and advanced video analytics capabilities. These enhancements have significantly improved monitoring efficiency, reduced investigation times from weeks to hours, and optimized the airport's response to potential threats. The deployment was executed in three phases, with ongoing efforts to integrate advanced access control technology. The results indicate a marked decrease in crime rates and improved overall security, ensuring the safety of passengers and staff. The system complies with national and international standards, reflecting TAGSA's commitment to maintaining high security and service quality.
