The county relied heavily on paper submissions, with 95% of plans submitted on paper, leading to storage issues and delays in the approval process. The existing digital submission system was cumbersome and inefficient, resulting in a preference for paper submissions. After adopting DigEplan, the county experienced significant improvements, including a reduction in review time from 7-10 days to 3-5 days. The integration of DigEplan with Accela streamlined workflows, allowing for easy markups and real-time updates. The percentage of electronic submissions increased dramatically from 5% to over 90%. Communication improved significantly, enabling customers to track their application status independently, which allowed the review team to focus more on plan assessments.
