This case study presents an examination of a condition monitoring process implemented by AVT Reliability® to identify equipment issues within a chemical transfer system. The monitored asset, a transfer pump, is vital for maintaining production flow at the facility. The study outlines the ongoing reliability contract that includes vibration data collection and visual inspections performed on a four-weekly basis using the Machine Sentry® platform. During a routine inspection, the vibration levels were satisfactory; however, the visual inspection revealed a flange leakage that had not been noticed by the operators. This issue was documented through an Action Note within the Machine Sentry® application, and the site maintenance team was notified for planned corrective actions. The outlined approach underscores the significance of integrating condition monitoring with visual inspections to prevent potential environmental or safety issues arising from unnoticed equipment deterioration.
