This technical report details the performance testing and optimization of a diesel engine-driven firewater pump used in offshore oil and gas production. Upon arrival at the site, AVT engineers installed ultrasonic flow measurement equipment and digital gauges to accurately assess flow rates and pump speed. Initial tests revealed that the pump was underperforming, failing to meet the required flow rate of 1,268 m³/h at a discharge pressure of 7.7 bar. Further analysis indicated that the pump speed was below the OEM specifications. AVT recommended increasing the diesel engine speed by 25 rpm, which was within acceptable limits. A subsequent performance test showed an improved output of 1,277.64 m³/h, successfully restoring compliance with performance standards. The report concludes with a detailed performance analysis and recommendations for future maintenance, ensuring that the firewater pump can reliably meet safety requirements without major interventions.
