Rapid Deployment of Online Monitoring for Crane Winch

This technical report details a critical incident involving a crane winch failure on an offshore wind turbine installation vessel, which led to extended downtime while the vessel was docked in Belfast. The report outlines the absence of continuous condition monitoring and the subsequent need for a proactive monitoring strategy to prevent future failures.
