This white paper outlines the security features of the Axis body worn system, emphasizing its high level of system security despite being based on an open platform. It describes the design measures implemented to secure the system, particularly in the event of camera loss. The body worn camera (BWC) utilizes a minimized software platform, ensuring that unnecessary components are removed to mitigate risks. Data communication between the camera and the system controller is secured using IPv6 and certificates, with AES-256 encryption employed for internal storage. The paper details the data transfer process, highlighting the use of HTTPS encrypted connections for offloading data to the system controller and subsequently to the content destination. Additional security features include a FIPS 140-2 compliant trusted platform module (TPM), signed firmware, secure boot, and end-to-end encryption for live streaming through AXIS Body Worn Live. The administrator has control over live stream access, ensuring that only authorized users can view the content.
