This case study details the implementation of Sage Intacct by Keewaytinook Okimakanak (KO), a non-political Chiefs Council representing six First Nations communities in Northern Ontario. The organization faced challenges with inefficient financial processes, manual reporting, and outdated systems. To address these issues, KO migrated from Sage 50 and Sage 300 to the cloud-based Sage Intacct, implemented by BAASS Business Solutions. The migration resulted in improved efficiency, time and cost savings, enhanced reporting capabilities, and greater control over financial processes. The case study outlines how the new system has streamlined operations, provided a robust audit trail, and enabled easier compliance with audit requirements. Additionally, KO plans to implement the Sage Fixed Asset application to further enhance its financial management. The transition has allowed KO to focus more on strategic decision-making and better serve its communities, ultimately supporting its mission to uplift and connect its members.
