This case study details the implementation of the InjectRT intelligent chemical treatment optimization service in the Permian Basin, United States. The objective of the service is to address several challenges faced in high flow rate wells, including corrosion, scaling, and rapidly changing reservoir conditions. The InjectRT service aligns chemical injection rates with ESP-derived virtual flow rates and automates the chemical dosing process through intelligent injection controllers. It eliminates the need for manual intervention by automatically shutting down and restarting chemical pumps based on ESP status, while also sending alerts for tank refills and performing quality checks. The results of this implementation include calculated water and oil production rates that closely match recorded facility readings, a reduction in wellsite visits, and decreased chemical costs due to automatic adjustments in injection rates. Overall, the case study presents a detailed analysis of how the InjectRT service enhances operational efficiency and reduces associated costs.
