This case study examines the implementation of the baramundi Management Suite (bMS) at the Nordakademie Hochschule der Wirtschaft, a university of applied sciences. The institution faced challenges in managing mobile workstations that were infrequently used and often operated outside the university network. The need for a centralized management solution became apparent six years ago, leading to the adoption of bMS. The solution proved particularly beneficial during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing the university to set up numerous home workstations quickly and securely. The bMS facilitated remote device management through an encrypted connection, alleviating the need for users to initiate VPN connections. The IT team, consisting of three employees, manages around 200 devices, utilizing bMS for various tasks including software distribution and device management. The case study highlights the effectiveness of bMS in automating routine tasks and supporting special projects, emphasizing its value during challenging times.
