Industrial IoT Implementation for Operational Efficiency

This case study details the implementation of an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution by Pittarc, a company specializing in high-quality welding wire production. The objective was to enhance operational efficiency by increasing visibility on critical production parameters and enabling prompt interventions. The IIoT project, developed in collaboration with beanTech, involved creating an open and modular platform that integrates with existing systems and future technologies. Key features of the platform include real-time data collection from various sources, customizable dashboards, and automated alert systems. The results of the implementation were significant, with a reduction in critical defects from 64% to 3%, improved monitoring of key performance indicators, and enhanced operational autonomy for users. The study emphasizes the importance of data analysis in process improvement and the benefits of using a dual edge and cloud platform for robust and flexible data acquisition and analysis.
