This case study details the implementation of a Data Exchange framework developed by beanTech for Friul Intagli Industries, a major player in the furniture sector. The framework addresses three primary needs: continuous monitoring of production lines, interconnecting machines with the production management system, and measuring energy consumption to comply with legal obligations. The solution includes a modular and configurable architecture that allows for communication between machines from different suppliers. The infrastructure consists of a hardware layer utilizing a Beckhoff CX2040 model and a software layer that standardizes communication protocols. The system enables real-time data collection and energy monitoring across multiple production lines. The case study also outlines the advantages of the implemented solution, including flexibility, continuous performance monitoring, and compliance with energy diagnosis regulations. Future expansions of the system to other production units are planned, indicating the scalability of the solution.
