This study is a technical report prepared for BetterLesson by LearnPlatform, examining the efficacy of the BetterLesson professional learning program in relation to teacher motivation and student achievement. Conducted during the 2022–23 school year in a small northeastern U.S. district, the study involved both teachers and students to assess the program's impact. The sample included 10 elementary teachers and 5 secondary teachers, alongside 158 elementary students and 1,110 secondary students. The report outlines the methodologies used, including quantitative analyses of teacher usage data and student achievement scores. Findings indicate that increased usage of BetterLesson correlates with higher teacher self-efficacy and improved student reading and math scores. The report concludes that the study meets Level III evidence requirements under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), providing promising evidence of the program's effectiveness.
