This case study details the audio system upgrade at Ascot Racecourse, located in Perth, Australia. The objective was to enhance digital audio clarity and flexibility while ensuring ease of operation and programming. The Biamp solution, featuring the Tesira DSP and TEC-1 wall-mounted control panels, was implemented to address the shortcomings of the previous audio system, which was plagued by heavy amps, interference, and frequent breakdowns. The new system allows staff to manage audio across approximately 50 zones, tailoring sound for various areas such as grandstands and restaurants. The intuitive Canvas software simplifies operation, enabling staff to activate presets for quick adjustments. The upgrade has resulted in improved speech intelligibility and exceptional audio zoning flexibility, crucial for the high-stakes environment of horse racing. The case study emphasizes the importance of clear audio for race calls and the overall atmosphere at the venue, showcasing the effectiveness of the Biamp system in meeting these needs.
