Hospital Security Enhancement Through Managed Detection and Response

This case study details the implementation of Binary Defense's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution in a women's specialty hospital facing significant security challenges. The hospital struggled with safeguarding patient health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII) while complying with regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH. With limited manpower and visibility into over 1,000 endpoints, the hospital required an effective security solution. The deployment of BDVision, a nano-agent endpoint detection and response tool, enhanced visibility and threat detection capabilities. The solution utilized advanced behavior-based detection techniques to identify real-time attacks and included features for immediate isolation of compromised endpoints. The partnership with Binary Defense allowed the hospital's security team to effectively manage over 9,700 alerts, with only 9 requiring further action. This implementation not only improved the hospital's security posture but also allowed the team to focus on patient care, demonstrating the effectiveness of MDR services in the healthcare sector.
