Blockchain Technology Enhances Product Development Speed

This report presents the results of pilot projects conducted by the Digital Supply Chain Institute (DSCI) in collaboration with Aricent and Bitfury, demonstrating the impact of blockchain technology on product development for mobile operators. The study reveals that implementing a blockchain-enabled software development approach can accelerate product cycle time by 34 percent, increase developer productivity by 29 percent, and improve product quality by 11 percent. The findings indicate that blockchain technology enhances efficiency and transparency in software product development supply chains. The report also discusses the potential for blockchain to secure various technologies, including mobile identity and IoT, and highlights the creation of the Blockchain Return Index (BRI), a tool designed to measure the business impact of blockchain across industries. The research emphasizes the growing understanding of blockchain's capabilities and its expected widespread impact beyond supply chains and financial services.
