Nurse Documentation and AI Readiness Gap Analysis

This white paper presents an analysis of the nurse documentation and AI readiness gap based on a survey of 118 registered nurse managers conducted by Black Book Research. The report outlines how documentation burdens and EHR workflow design impact nursing practice and identifies key concerns regarding the integration of AI documentation tools. It emphasizes that AI documentation will only succeed if it effectively reduces redundant charting, preserves RN control, and aligns with the nonlinear, multi-patient nature of nursing work.
