This case study details the transition of The Salvation Army in Canada to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, a fundraising-driven customer relationship management (CRM) system. The organization, which has been providing social services since 1882, faced challenges with its outdated local receipting program, which complicated processes and affected donor satisfaction. The migration to the new system, led by Data Project Manager Adrian Enciso, eliminated the need for a third-party vendor, resulting in annual savings of approximately $250,000. The new system has significantly improved operational efficiency, allowing for instant gift receipt issuance and rapid report generation. The Salvation Army also reported a $22 million increase in annual giving due to strategic adjustments in donor targeting and data analysis capabilities. The organization aims to further enhance its reporting and data governance through the addition of a data warehouse, which will support more granular reporting and improved fundraising efforts.
