Protecting Executives Personal Information After Cyberattack

This document is a case study detailing the response of a Life Sciences company to a ransomware incident that resulted in the theft of personal data from its executive team. The incident raised concerns regarding the potential loss of intellectual property and reputational damage. In response, the General Counsel accelerated a digital executive protection project, leading to the implementation of BlackCloak's executive cybersecurity protection plans. These plans included identity theft and fraud protection, securing personal devices, monitoring account activity, and conducting home network security scans. The executives also enabled multi-factor authentication on various accounts to enhance security. The partnership with BlackCloak allowed the company to protect its reputation and financial standing while preventing future hacking attempts. The General Counsel and CISO received ongoing reports on the protection status, and the measures taken proved effective when a subsequent hacking attempt was detected and mitigated promptly.
