This case study outlines the implementation of the Harmonys Class Change System at Repton School, an independent school in South Derbyshire with over six hundred pupils. The previous system lacked separate bells for different areas, leading to noise and disruption during class changes. The new system replaces old bells with a centralized network, allowing for personalized messages and improved communication across the school premises. It enhances operational efficiency by ensuring timely class changes and distinguishing alerts from fire alarms for safety. The system is programmable to accommodate varying schedules throughout the year and can automatically cancel alerts during school holidays, thus saving staff time. Additionally, the Class Change System can play music, which has been positively received by staff. Repton School plans to expand its use of Bodet services to include lockdown alerts in the future.
