Long-Term Outcomes of Pulsed Field Ablation Study

This document is a research report detailing the long-term outcomes of the ADVENT long-term outcomes (LTO) study, which compares the effectiveness of the FARAPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) system against traditional thermal ablation for treating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AFib). The study involved a randomized cohort of 364 patients, with an average follow-up of 3.6 years. It assessed the effectiveness of the FARAPULSE PFA in terms of freedom from arrhythmia-related hospitalization, cardioversion, or repeat ablation after a three-month blanking period. Results indicate that patients treated with FARAPULSE PFA experienced significantly greater long-term effectiveness, with a lower likelihood of requiring repeat ablation compared to those who underwent thermal ablation. Additionally, the report highlights that there were no long-term safety concerns associated with the FARAPULSE PFA system, suggesting its potential as a superior option for long-term management of paroxysmal AFib.
