This case study details the integration of HelpLightning technology at Molinette Hospital in Turin, aimed at enhancing cryoablation procedures for cancer treatment. In May 2023, the hospital adopted this GDPR-compliant solution from Boston Scientific to provide remote support to Prof. Marco Calandri, an interventional radiologist. The implementation addressed challenges related to the medical staff's limited experience with the new equipment and the absence of on-site clinical specialists. HelpLightning facilitated real-time connections with Boston Scientific experts, increasing the medical team's confidence and leading to a significant rise in the number of cryoablation procedures performed. The technology ensured secure and reliable communication, allowing for immediate insights into critical aspects of the procedures. The results indicated a more than twofold increase in procedure volume compared to baseline, with substantial time and cost savings achieved by reducing treatment delays. The case study emphasizes the hospital's commitment to patient-centered care and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in improving clinical outcomes.
