This case study details the migration of a US-based healthcare and insurance multinational corporation (MNC) from a PCF platform to OpenShift, facilitated by Brillio. The objective was to consolidate over 3000 applications onto a single Kubernetes platform to streamline container management and significantly reduce licensing and maintenance costs. The transition involved re-architecting native PCF tiles and implementing a new firewall tool to ensure a seamless migration. Brillio managed the entire process, utilizing its Code Scanner for a comprehensive analysis of the existing PCF implementation, which reduced analysis efforts by 70%. The migration plan was designed to ensure that all applications transitioned smoothly, supported by the establishment of an automated CI/CD pipeline. The results included a 40% reduction in PCF licensing costs and substantial savings in compute costs, alongside a decrease in the size of the code maintenance team and consolidated technical debt.
