BMS Macmillan Workforce Planning Tool Outcomes Report

This document is an outcomes report detailing the development and implementation of the BMS Macmillan workforce planning tool. The tool was designed to assist NHS organizations in forecasting future cancer workforce needs in response to treatment innovations, changing care pathways, and increasing service demand. Developed in collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Support, Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), IQVIA, and various NHS partners, the tool aims to provide a practical resource for Trusts to understand how innovations in cancer treatment may impact patient demand and workforce configuration. The report outlines the objectives of creating a co-produced tool that supports proactive workforce planning and builds a data-informed forecasting approach. It also details the activities completed during the development phase, including validation workshops and stakeholder engagement. The final tool is positioned as a practical solution to help NHS planning teams adapt to future demands and service delivery models, ultimately enhancing the sustainability of cancer care.
