This report details the analysis of trace elements in 14 different red and white wine samples using the TXRF spectrometer S2 PICOFOX. The first part discusses the suitability of the S2 PICOFOX for wine analysis and the accuracy of trace element analysis of wine standards. The report outlines the instrumentation used, sample preparation, and the analytical accuracy demonstrated with control samples. It highlights the main inorganic compounds found in the wine samples and notes that all detected elements were below legally allowed limits. The second part of the report focuses on the accuracy of trace element analysis of wine standards, emphasizing the importance of elements such as calcium, copper, iron, and potassium in wine quality control. The report concludes that the TXRF spectrometer S2 PICOFOX provides accurate and reproducible results for trace element analysis, with advantages over other analytical techniques, including straightforward sample preparation and simultaneous analysis of multiple elements.
