This case study examines the implementation of ISO 7101:2023, a healthcare organization management standard, in two hospitals in India: Dr Mehta's Hospitals and Annai Velankanni Hospital. The objective of the ISO 7101 standard is to enhance patient care by embedding a culture of quality within healthcare organizations. The study outlines the challenges faced by India's healthcare sector, including inconsistent standards and workforce distribution gaps. It details how the pilot program, funded by BSI in collaboration with the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), aims to improve quality management systems in these hospitals. The implementation process involves a systematic approach that includes conducting gap analyses and engaging leadership to champion quality initiatives. The benefits observed include improved patient safety, enhanced quality management, and greater employee engagement. The case study highlights the potential of ISO 7101 to transform healthcare delivery in India and strengthen the hospitals' operational frameworks.
