This case study outlines the leadership development initiative undertaken by a leading gas and electricity utilities company aiming to become the utility provider of the future. The organization recognized the necessity to enhance the skills of its leaders to effectively manage remote teams. To address this need, the company implemented a virtually-delivered BTS Multipliers Simulation based on Liz Wiseman’s book, 'Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter.' The simulation aimed to teach leaders how to delegate effectively, enhance team productivity, and recognize actions that may unintentionally diminish team contributions. Participants reported a significant learning impact, with 97% agreeing they acquired skills applicable to their roles that contributed to measurable results. The initiative fostered a risk-free environment for leaders to experiment with new behaviors, ultimately increasing their awareness of team strengths and capabilities. This approach reflects a strategic commitment to developing leadership skills in a changing work environment.
