This case study details the implementation of Seasoft ERP software at Eastern Fisheries, a global leader in the seafood industry. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in New Bedford, MA, sought to achieve British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification, which is essential for maintaining quality standards mandated by major retailers and food service organizations. The study outlines the challenges faced by Eastern Fisheries in pursuing this certification and how Seasoft ERP software provided a solution. The software enabled forward and backward traceability, allowing the company to track specific lots from customer invoices back to the original purchase orders. It also facilitated real-time access to critical information such as vendor details, lot numbers, and production methods. As a result, Eastern Fisheries successfully achieved BRC certification, minimizing recall efforts and saving costs associated with broad product recalls. The case study emphasizes the importance of product traceability in meeting rigorous certification requirements.
