Mega Image Total-Store Energy Efficiency Project

This case study details the collaboration between CAREL and Technoelectric to implement a Total-Store solution for Mega Image, a prominent retailer in Romania. The project aims to enhance energy efficiency across approximately 973 stores by transitioning to natural refrigerants and integrating a centralized monitoring system. The initiative has resulted in a notable 14% reduction in energy consumption, translating to annual economic savings of 5.3 million euros and a decrease of 6.39 kilotons of CO2 emissions. The solution encompasses both new store setups and retrofitting existing locations, ensuring the integration of various control technologies. The implementation includes a comprehensive management system for monitoring energy and water consumption, as well as optimizing refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting systems. The partnership emphasizes the importance of local support and rapid deployment, which has successfully connected nearly all stores to a cloud-based monitoring platform, facilitating ongoing performance evaluations and optimizations.
