This case study details the implementation of Carrier AQUAEDGE 19XRV centrifugal water-cooled chillers in Varso Tower, the tallest building in the European Union. Located in Warsaw, the building features an engine room situated on the 51st floor at a height of 214 meters. The project aimed to meet specific client requirements, including operational economy, high reliability, modularity, and exceptional energy efficiency. Carrier proposed four AQUAEDGE 19XRV chillers, which collectively provide a total power output of 8400 kW. The chillers utilize advanced technologies such as a unique hermetic compressor concept, high-output evaporator and condenser pipes, and a variable-frequency drive for compressor control. The Varso Tower is recognized for its energy-saving solutions and has achieved BREEAM and WELL certifications at the highest level, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability and user comfort.
