This case study details the engagement of a leading residential HVAC equipment manufacturer with Carrier Abound to implement predictive insights aimed at improving operations and maintenance. The manufacturer sought to optimize facility equipment operations to reduce carbon footprint and energy intensity while enhancing equipment reliability. The challenge involved low visibility of equipment operations, leading to unplanned downtime and frequent breakdown maintenance. Carrier Abound deployed an AI-based solution utilizing the Abound Insights platform, which continuously monitors and analyzes facility equipment, predicts issues, and provides prescriptive recommendations. The platform integrates various HVAC and lighting equipment connected to existing Building Management Systems, creating an intelligent network. The engagement resulted in significant energy savings of over 9% for HVAC equipment and over 5% for the entire facility, alongside a reduction of 300 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The implementation achieved these results with a payback period of less than 24 months.
