This case study outlines the Rape Review Response Project (RRRP), a £5 million initiative aimed at enhancing digital forensics capabilities for police forces in England and Wales. The project was initiated by the Home Office to improve the collection of digital evidence related to rape and serious sexual offences. It involved the procurement of 150 high-powered laptops and tablets, each configured with bespoke digital forensic software tailored to the needs of various police forces. The project faced significant challenges due to global supply chain issues, which extended hardware lead times from three to six months. CDW was selected as the supplier due to its expertise in digital forensics and its ability to meet the project's complex requirements. The collaboration between CDW and the Forensic Capability Network (FCN) was crucial in ensuring timely delivery and effective configuration of the devices. The successful deployment of this equipment is expected to significantly improve the response to RASSO cases, enabling better support for victims and witnesses.
