This case study details the collaboration between CDW and Photobox to upgrade the latter's IT infrastructure, which had become outdated and was hindering operational efficiency. The project aimed to streamline operations by reducing the number of suppliers and enhancing compute and storage capabilities. Photobox, a leader in online photo printing, faced challenges due to an ageing IT setup that was unable to support peak demand, particularly for large print files. The solution involved a two-phase implementation of NetApp hybrid cloud technology across multiple sites in the UK, France, and Germany. The upgrade was completed in less than six weeks with zero downtime, allowing for improved performance and increased production capacity. The partnership has enabled Photobox to standardize its server and storage infrastructure, consolidate vendor partners, and enhance overall system performance. The new infrastructure has also facilitated faster order fulfillment, leading to improved customer satisfaction and retention.
