Implementation of MEDITECH Expanse at Thomas Hospitals

This case study details the implementation of the MEDITECH Expanse platform at Thomas Memorial Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital, which aimed to consolidate their operations into a single electronic health record (EHR) system. The project involved transitioning from two different platforms, Siemens and MEDITECH MAGIC, to a unified MEDITECH 6.15 system. The implementation required extensive planning, including hosting support, integration of third-party applications, and a significant restructuring of the IT departments at both hospitals. The collaboration with CereCore was crucial for providing the necessary leadership, project management, and technical expertise. The project emphasized a standardized approach to improve operational efficiency and included ongoing support for physicians and staff. The successful consolidation led to enhanced workflows, improved access to patient information, and increased satisfaction among both physicians and employees.
