This case study details the implementation of an Intelligent Automation (IA) solution by CGI for the National Crime Agency's (NCA) International Crime Bureau (UKICB). The primary objective of this initiative was to enhance the processing, management, and sharing of intelligence related to INTERPOL circulations. Following the UK's exit from the EU, UK police forces were advised to utilize INTERPOL circulations instead of the previous Schengen Information System alerts. The IA solution has significantly improved operational efficiency, processing INTERPOL data 79% faster than human workers and saving approximately 28,000 hours of manual processing. The UKICB has successfully automated multiple processes, allowing officers to focus on intelligence development rather than administrative tasks. The IA system also ensures accurate data entry and timely reporting, which enhances operational capabilities and supports better decision-making. The partnership between the NCA and CGI has proven beneficial in addressing the challenges of increased demand for intelligence sharing.
