This case study details GitGuardian's implementation of Chainguard Images to enhance its software security and vulnerability management processes. GitGuardian faced significant challenges in managing a growing backlog of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), which impacted their operational efficiency and customer trust. The manual processes for addressing vulnerabilities were resource-intensive, diverting attention from innovation and product development. By adopting Chainguard Images, GitGuardian achieved a remarkable 99.4% reduction in CVEs and a 33% decrease in image size. This strategic shift not only simplified their vulnerability management but also expedited the delivery of secure software versions. The efficiency gained allowed GitGuardian to focus on core business innovations and meet short Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for patching critical vulnerabilities. Looking forward, GitGuardian aims to leverage the time saved to expand their security capabilities and continue providing compliant and efficient solutions to their customers.
