This case study outlines the implementation of SharePoint 2013 for a Fortune 500 energy provider in the United States. The client, which serves over five million customers and employs nearly 8,000 people, faced challenges in standardizing and branding its SharePoint sites. The process was time-consuming and ineffective, as each site required individual adjustments that took two to three hours to complete. Charter Global was engaged to evaluate the project and provide expertise. They developed two application utilities to streamline site updates, allowing hundreds of sites to be updated in minutes. Additionally, branding and standardization were applied, resulting in a cohesive look and feel across the sites. The implementation of SharePoint 2013 coding standards led to a 20 percent improvement in site performance and significant labor hour savings. The case study highlights the ongoing positive impact of these changes on future site developments within the organization.
