This case study outlines the change management strategy developed for a regional health plan's provider data management (PDM) system implementation. The health plan recognized the need for an effective change management approach to ensure successful implementation, which included measuring change impact and securing stakeholder buy-in. Collaborating with HealthScape Advisors, the health plan engaged stakeholders through honest discussions to identify pain points and areas of resistance. The strategy involved categorizing users into three groups, each with tailored communication and training plans. Frequent workshops and updates were conducted to gather insights and optimize business needs. The comprehensive strategy led to improved stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and user readiness, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. The case study highlights critical steps in change management, including identifying pain points, delivering unique training curriculums, and prioritizing technical dependencies to ensure a smooth transition to the new PDM platform.
