This case study documents the integration of engineering data at ELOPAK GmbH, a manufacturer of composite cardboard packaging and filling equipment for liquid and paste-like food products. The objective was to optimize the development of filling equipment by migrating from a stand-alone Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to SAP PLM Engineering Control Center (ECTR). The implementation, supported by CIDEON, aimed to eliminate errors and improve cross-departmental workflows by integrating engineering data into the SAP ERP system. The study outlines the challenges faced during data migration, including inconsistencies in approval statuses and the need for multiple migration attempts. It also highlights the benefits achieved post-implementation, such as enhanced cooperation between departments, reduced coordination efforts, and improved data consistency. The successful transition to SAP PLM ECTR has enabled ELOPAK to streamline its design processes and ensure that all actions are based on reliable and up-to-date documentation.
