This case study outlines the integration of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems at IDEAL-Werk C. + E. Jungeblodt GmbH + Co. KG, a manufacturer specializing in welding systems. The objective of the integration project was to consolidate a heterogeneous IT system landscape and improve process integration between PLM and ERP, particularly through the implementation of SAP PLM. The integration aimed to enhance data consistency and transparency, thereby reducing throughput times and costs. IDEAL's collaboration with CIDEON Software facilitated the migration of over 70,000 documents and improved access to design data for all employees. The new system allows for seamless interoperability between ERP and document management, ensuring that users can easily track document versions and their associated tasks. The implementation has led to significant time savings in documentation processes, with the Output Management function reducing the time required for producing drawings from weeks to days. IDEAL-Werk is now positioned for continuous development with a robust PLM/ERP solution.
