CNCF Technology Radar on AI Tools and Platforms

This report is classified as a Technical Report and presents findings from a survey conducted in Q3 2025, which involved over 300 professional developers engaged with cloud native technologies. The report focuses on AI inferencing tools and engines, machine learning orchestration tools, and agentic AI platforms. Developers evaluated these technologies based on their usefulness, maturity, and likelihood of recommendation. The survey results categorized various tools into three tiers: 'adopt', 'trial', and 'assess'. Notable findings indicate that NVIDIA Triton, DeepSpeed, TensorFlow Serving, and BentoML were rated highly, with NVIDIA Triton leading in both maturity and usefulness. The report outlines the perception of tools such as Airflow and Metaflow in ML orchestration, as well as agentic AI projects like Model Context Protocol and Llama Stack. The goal is to identify technologies gaining traction among developers and to map emerging trends in the cloud native landscape for the ML/AI community.
