This case study details how Lockheed Martin enhanced its Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline with the assistance of CloudHesive. The objective was to address inefficiencies in the DevOps process, which resulted in prolonged timelines for application provisioning and development. Lockheed Martin's DevOps team faced challenges that necessitated the involvement of the infrastructure team, prompting the need for an expert review of its AWS architecture and permissions structure. CloudHesive implemented a well-architected DevOps pipeline in AWS, utilizing GitLab CI/CD for application deployment. The solution included the establishment of Amazon ECS clusters for different stages of the development lifecycle, deployment of Amazon VPC for secure networking, and the use of AWS IAM for access management. As a result, Lockheed Martin's development teams significantly reduced application provisioning time from days or weeks to mere hours, allowing for more agile development processes without requiring infrastructure team intervention.
