This case study details the cloud modernization efforts undertaken by Texas A&M University's Department of Residential Housing to enhance its operational efficiency. The objective was to secure and scale a housing system that generates over $50 million in annual revenue while managing more than 11,000 on-campus residents across 25 residence halls. The legacy Oracle PeopleSoft infrastructure faced challenges such as slow transaction processing and data silos. CloudLogically implemented a scalable, cloud-native solution on AWS, which included custom ETL pipelines to unify data across various systems. As a result, transaction processing speed improved by 30%, and the infrastructure was able to handle peak loads effectively. The implementation phases included a thorough workload assessment, architecture design, and continuous performance monitoring. Additionally, the project involved mentorship opportunities for students, ensuring knowledge transfer and long-term self-sufficiency within the IT department.
