This case study details the collaboration between IHC FUNDEX Equipment and CM Labs in developing a custom simulator for the IHC FUNDEX F3500 drill rig. Based in the Netherlands, IHC FUNDEX specializes in designing and manufacturing multifunctional foundation rigs. The need for a simulator arose from the complexity of modern machinery and the necessity for effective training solutions. CM Labs was selected due to its proven track record and innovative technology. The developed simulator features a motion platform and integrates actual controls from the F3500, along with an Instructor Operating Station for monitoring trainee performance. The simulator not only serves as a training tool but also as an engineering tool, allowing for testing and iteration of automation algorithms without needing the physical rig. The partnership has enabled IHC FUNDEX to enhance training capabilities and improve engineering processes, ultimately leading to significant time savings in development.
