This case study details the implementation of Vortex simulators by IUOE Local 150 to significantly increase their training capacity. Headquartered in Countryside, Illinois, IUOE Local 150 represents approximately 23,000 members and provides training for various industries. In response to a growing demand for training, particularly due to a $45 billion state infrastructure bill, Local 150 acquired 11 Vortex simulators to enhance their training programs. The simulators allow for flexible training across multiple equipment types and improve the efficiency of training resources by enabling one instructor to oversee multiple students simultaneously. The case study outlines the advantages of simulator training, including immediate feedback, skill mastery without risk, and the ability to analyze performance data. It also highlights how the realism of the simulators contributes to operator confidence and safety awareness, which is beneficial from an insurance perspective. The use of Smart Training Technology ensures that the training provided is effective and transferable to real-world scenarios.
