This case study details the implementation of a business continuity plan (BCP) at Japanese Red Cross Musashino Hospital, focusing on enhancing cyber resilience through a solution provided by Cohesity and HPE. The hospital, which serves a population of approximately 1 million, faced challenges from ransomware attacks that disrupted patient care. To comply with government regulations, the hospital sought an integrated backup environment to ensure rapid recovery of critical data. The selected solution, Cohesity DataProtect on HPE ProLiant servers, enabled the hospital to recover 500 GB of data in just 20 seconds during a BCP training exercise. The case study outlines the hospital's criteria for the solution, including reliability and data security, and highlights key benefits such as up to 70% capacity savings and consistent recovery times. The hospital plans to expand the use of the Cohesity solution for additional applications, further enhancing its operational resilience against cyber threats.
