This case study details the cybersecurity implementation for a leading electric utility company in Mexico City, which serves approximately 18 million residents. The company faced significant security challenges after separating its IT network from its parent organization, particularly concerning the protection of sensitive data related to hydroelectric plants and dams. Stakeholders sought a proactive solution to enhance their security posture against advanced cyber threats. ColorTokens was engaged to deploy a Zero Trust architecture, implementing three core solutions: Xshield for network protection, Xprotect for endpoint security, and Xassure for threat detection and monitoring. The deployment allowed for comprehensive visibility into network traffic and potential vulnerabilities. Following the implementation, the company successfully thwarted intrusion attempts, saving significant potential costs associated with a breach. The case study illustrates the effectiveness of the Zero Trust approach in maintaining operational integrity and security in a critical infrastructure environment.
