This technical report presents the findings of the WPHF 2023 Global CSO Survey, which focuses on local women’s rights and women-led organizations engaged in women, peace, security, and humanitarian action (WPS-HA). The survey aimed to assess the support these organizations receive and their operational challenges, particularly in conflict and crisis-affected areas. A total of 337 representatives from local organizations across 35 countries participated, revealing that 85% identify as women’s rights organizations. The report outlines significant risks faced by these organizations, including high levels of threat due to inadequate funding, with over 66% reporting a high risk to their continuity. It also highlights the urgent need for more flexible and long-term funding to support their work. The findings indicate that many organizations have experienced a decrease in funding over the past two years, which compromises their ability to fulfill their mandates effectively. The report concludes with a call for increased support and advocacy for local women’s organizations in the WPS-HA space.
