Global Software Company Data Center Upgrade

This case study outlines the upgrade of infrastructure for 30 data centers across 11 countries by a global enterprise software company, transitioning from 100G to 400G. The company required a standardized cabling design for seamless deployment at legacy sites, leading to the selection of CommScope’s SYSTIMAX® portfolio of ultra low-loss structured cabling solutions. The upgrade aimed to enhance network efficiency and scalability to accommodate increasing traffic demands. Despite challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, CommScope and its PartnerPRO® Network providers successfully avoided delays in the project. The implementation of the SYSTIMAX ULL preterminated solution resulted in a fourfold increase in bandwidth, enabling faster data transmission. The project was executed with careful planning, including preprovisioning and coordination among various stakeholders to ensure that the existing network remained operational during the upgrade. The SYSTIMAX solution also facilitated cost savings and supported emerging cloud technologies, backed by a 25-year warranty for application assurance.
