This case study outlines the technology adoption strategy at Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) in Perth, focusing on creating a differentiated learning experience for students. MLC transitioned from a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy to a school-provided 1:1 device program, implementing Microsoft Surface devices to enhance teaching and learning. The college aimed to align its values with effective technology tools, emphasizing the importance of training for both staff and students. A Proof of Concept (POC) pilot was conducted to facilitate smooth technology integration, supported by tailored training sessions for teachers. The partnership with Compnow, a Microsoft Surface reseller, played a crucial role in this transition, providing expertise and ongoing support. The case study highlights the benefits of this collaboration, including improved communication through Microsoft Teams, reduced paper usage, and a commitment to sustainability through the SustainIT lifecycle program. MLC aspires to become a Microsoft Lighthouse school, reflecting its dedication to innovative education practices.
